Well I finally did it, after planning to record the Colima Warbler for
nearly 2 years I got the little bugger on tape (flash card to be exact)
The Colima Warbler is found in Big Bend national park, Texas and with the
heat there of 100f and rising, it was no easy task.

I set out at around 6:30am and after climbing some 1600ft on top of the
5000ft base camp, 5 hours later I recorded them.....
I gotta admit it was a thrill to finally get it and one recording I will
remember for a long time.
I saw mountain lion, rattle snakes and tarantulas, but do you think some
pussy cat was going to stop me!!!!
What an incredible place Big Bend is, I saw and recorded some 78 species an=

the peace and quiet was something I only remember as a kid....
To my surprise before the trip, I was able to get a sound devices 722 so
this was the test for me. I love the machine and highly recommend it.
Compact, rugged and a pre-amp to die for in these conditions.
The rechargeable battery life is around 2 hours and I got Leonard from Soni=

to rig me up a pack containing "d cells" giving me an additional 28 hours
record time.
This is a wee sample of the warbler to wet your whistle. More bits to come.
