That's a very good point, particularly when it turns out my initial
test was a bit optimistic - because I was transferring (smaller) Hi-
MD Hi-SP-files.

I did some testing last night with Hi-MD-files recorded in PCM-
format, and it took about 10-11 minutes to transfer roughly 3 minutes
of audio. That's a 1:3.5-relationship, and quite slow.

And, again, this was on a Dual G5...

I'm thinking it may have been smarter to install Windows 98 instead
of Windows XP, since the former is a (considerably) more processor-
friendly OS. I will probably try that tonight.

I haven't got the space for more hardware in my setup, however, and I
don't mind the speed - I can just put the transfer on and go to
sleep. ;)

Definitely. I tested the source material yesterday, and I'm very
happy with it - recording uncompressed is nice. :)
