I don't know about underwater play back systems (check out swimming
pool speakers) but I recently tried out the DolphinearPro hydrophone
and found it to be good enough for my needs. They are so fresh that I
haven't edited my recordings yet, but I didn't get any radio
interference (although was inland on a lake far from any boats but next
door to a motorway).
There are more hydrophone links this list recommended when i asked
recently - search the archives with DolphinEar hydrophone and you'll
get about 4 mails.
