Dear Friends of the Owl,
In our first 3 months at  www.flammeus.it , the site has received more than
1500 visits (at an average of approximately 16 visitors a day).  Although
some of the materials are still not available in English, our web-site has
been visited from every continent--every part of Europe, but also countries
including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Morocco, South
Africa, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Korea, Thailand, Singapore,
India, China, Tunisia, Egypt, and more!  Thank you to all of these visitors=
.

In the Articles/Articoli section:
1) a brief review of the status of the Short-eared Owl in the province of
Rovigo (North Italy, delta of the Po river) that also historically is one o=
f
the areas where this species is most prevalent. The title is:  The
Short-eared Owl in the Province of Rovigo, East North Italy, Veneto. By
Emiliano Verza.
2) "Research in Northern Italy: Actors and Strategies in the Conservation o=

Biodiversity," an important Bird Conference held last November 27 at the
Natural History Museum of Milan.
