If you are looking for the sound you hear in the movies, be aware
that those waves are built from many pieces to the picture.
Also the big general waves tend to me mono around you
as low frequency is not very directional based (hence the sub can
be most anywhere in the room).
The stereo directionality cues come from the crisp tops of waves
that are near by.
I did find that the Crown SASS needed very little extra wind protection
for moderate beach work.
You also might want to try some of the sound effects libraries,
especially those that you can buy on line. Their are much
cheaper than dealing with salt corrosion.
