I agree but my test had a shorter chain than the test you linked for
comparison of the analog nagra to a digital dat.
Maybe I didn't word it clear enough.
The only difference and weakness of my recording chain was that I do
not own a Minidisc with digital out so that there was an analog stage
for the minidisc to playback. When I can visit a md with digital out I
can complete the test with that if I wanted. But since I use the
analog out of the consumer minidisc the test I did is a more fair
comparison to the hardware under test.
I for record I used in a common chain:
one sound source
one microphone
one microphone preamp
one a/d converter with i/o route capabilities and pci interface direct
to the laptop.
one DSP software program.
I used as separate components:
one light pipe cable to the MD alone.
one d/a converter used for the md to laptop.
