The Soundman web site indicates that the OKM microphones will work
using the "plug-in power" your minidisc recorder provides. So,
strictly speaking, you don't need the A3 adapter. Do you find
recordings made without the A3 to be of inferior quality? Or is there
another reason why you use the A3 adapter?

If you're looking for a way to bypass the minidisc's mic preamp and
record via the line-in port, consider the new "mp3 preamp" from
Felmicamps. It offers a stereo connector for the 3.5mm miniplug used
by the OKM microphone lead, and boosts the signal by 30dB so you can
record to the line-in port. A 9v battery powers the preamp, and
provides "plug-in power" to the microphone.
