Catarina,

I just purchased the Marantz PMD 670. My goal is to let it record
unattended for 12 hours in the field. On high quality mp3 with a 1 gig
flash card it will record over 13 hours but the battery life is shorter than
9 hours. I have not figured everything out yet on it but it is very light,
only 2 lbs. The CDR 420 would require a very heavy battery pack. I do not
know about intermittant recording. You can download the pdf owners guide
from the Marantz website.

Still learning, slowly, Stan
