I have somewhat similar question.
I have two SONY minidiscs and I have recorded and transferred sounds from
both MDRs. I have used headphone outlet as line out and connected to line=
in to directly transfer my recordings using either Cool Edit or Raven. But=
recently I seem to have been getting a lot of crackly noise. As far as I
know I dont think I have changed anything, but we did change some settings=
for volume control to record night flight calls. So Played around with
this control but I still get lot of noise. So any suggestion how can I
solve this problem?
Also about minijacks, one of the XLR cable with minijack I recently bought=
seem to be not working well all the time. So I am thinking it may something=
due to above problem of 1/8" vs 3.5 mm. Does any one know what kind
of sockets are there on SONY discs, are they 1/8" or 3.5 mm?
Also does anyone know if there is help manual available for Cool Edit as I=
need to learn some of the techniques for learning to edit the sound
clippings, such as removing some sounds which fall in different band width=
tc.?
Thanks very much for your help in advance.
