Sharon Perry and I did some 4-channel experiments using my
shoulder-mounted Shure 183 omnis for one pair and her 957 for the
other. The tonality difference between them was shocking. We recorded
some white water side by side for calibration, and the EQ curve to
match them was rather extreme.

I have to believe that the omnis were the more accurate. Our more
recent experiments have been with 4 183s, carrying the 957 for backup
or quick convenient use.
