Kudos to Kim spotting this one!

24 bit WAV recording to CF with built-in USB2/SPDIF out. No pres, but does
present plug-in power to a mic, have line in (no digital in alas?), and
built-in pair of electret mics.

At $400 in a class with HiMD and HD-based MP3 recorders... definitely
worth a try I think... would be an interesting mate to that CF->HiMD
device of Sony's, or one of the CF->HD/CD standalone rippers they make for
photographers...?

Oh yeah -- answers another pet peeve of mine, it runs on standard AAs (or
nimh rechargeables).
