I would suspect this would only apply if using the built in sound input.
Something like a USB interface, like I use should be fine, particularly
in my case where the digital data is actually generated by the
Portadisc. Even analog input into the Roland I use should be fine. I
also use the roland for my output conversion to analog, don't use the
built in at all anymore. A single in and out path was pretty limiting.

Note that such problems occurred if the wrong input protocol was chosen
in a G4 as well. If such a problem occurs try the various protocols and
see if one of them works. Same thing applies if persistent clicking is
noticed in the recorded input.

I'm still not ready to buy a G5, still waiting for all the bugs to
appear. I suppose this may be one. I'll wait at least another generation
of G5's. Maybe longer.

One question, does this also apply to the built in optical digital audio
input? Or is this just the analog one.
