Since a 1GB Compactflash card will hold only about 15 minutes of two channel 24/192 sound, so I think people interested in experimenting with high quantization rates will probably record to the internal 20GB hard disc. According to the Sound Sense web page, it will be possible to purchase the new 722 recorder without a hard disc or internal battery, and save $175.
