Surprising that something as technically complex as a CD would have a simple scratch flaw. I have used about 500 or so TDK silver color CD with no problems. Of course this is no guarantee I won't. I would expect that a data cd would be affected as well. Guess you need to return them to Big W and check new ones for scratches, or change brands.
