Seeking central Chile and general travel advice

Hi There,

I'll be spending 10 days in Santiago Chile and the immediately
surrounding areas in a few weeks. It's a trip with family, but I plan
to do some casual recording. Any suggestions for natural (or urban)
soundscape recording opportunities would be most appreciated.

Any good web resources on Chilean bird life?

Finally, anyone care to re-cap air travel and customs advice when
carrying moderate amounts of sound gear?

Finally, how about passing through Brasil? We fly through Sau Palo,
and I heard that Brasil has imposed immigration processing
requirements on US citizens similar to those imposed by the US
(fingerprinting, etc.).

Any thoughts on the above would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Rudy
