from memory the following mkh series are... (may have missed a few
models...)
mkh20: omni
mkh30: fig 8
mkh40: cardiod
mkh50: super cardiod
mkh60: short shotgun
mkh70; long shotgun
mkh80; multi pattern
mkh416: "old school" short shotgun (still made)
mkh816: "old school" long shotgun (no longer in production)
sounds like the humidity got to your mic, for an indestructable mic try
the mkh416, will work in almost any condition you throw at it, also can
be found for a good price (used) at most location recording suppliers.
while i think about, any of the mkh series are great for any situation.
