The claim is that digital transfer does not alter the sound. Check the 
metering on the Portadisc against the readings in your software as 
recording it in. They should agree as to dB numbers even if the meters 
look different. If there is significant disagreement then you have some 
processing and gain set in your software.

If they are the same, then you recorded it like that. The Portadisc 
sends it as recorded. There is no setting in the Portadisc to change that.
