Hi folks, I just wanted to share a design for an inexpensive parabolic mic made from a Dollar Store umbrella hat, a paint roller handle, and a Radio Shack 33-3028 lavalier microphone. Total cost is under twenty dollars. It works pretty well as far as I can tell. The website includes photos and some sample sounds from a scolding squirrel. http://www.bambooturtle.us/ParabolicMicrophone.html Jim Lee -- Jim Lee http://www.bambooturtle.us/ 919 682 5853 audio art, gourd sculpture, lighting design, and forensic audio ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
