Is there any description of the MKH 148S on Sennheiser's site or anywhere
else??

Greetings folks,

Soon, we will be field testing one of Sennheiser's new M-S mic
systems for the factory, the MKH 148S, throughout the coming spring
and early summer months. Using combos of new technologies, this
relatively new mic offers many advantages over other systems. Reduced
to one convenient mike tube, the Mid component consists of a highly
sensitive super-cardioid pattern (for directionality), and the Side
component is likewise highly sensitive with both components being
extremely noise-free and humidity resistant. This model slightly
exceeds the specs of most other Sennheiser MKH systems, a claim which
we find sort of amazing. The factory specs the new mic out (flat) at
40Hz - 20kHz. At $1600USD, it ain't cheap, but hell, we only live
once.

I'll keep you posted on what we find.
