I was not thinking of a mono recorder, all the MD's I know record
stereo. I could not find specs on your model when I looked just now. You
might want to check it's specs if you have them. We might be specing a
mic that's better than the recorder if it's a model designed for voice
or something like that. If it's just voice and the mic is only for the
trip, a cheaper mic might be fine.

Mono can be handled from the mic as it's a M/S stereo, and will mix to
mono with no problems. You would want a stereo to mono conversion plug
so that both channels are mixed.
