How do I record my own voice as a naturerecordist?

I be back!

To keep on the 'naturerecordist' subject - I am wanting to know the
best way of recording my own voice, using the equipment I have and
spending the least amount for the modification.

Some will remember my intro to the group: I announced that I had
bought a Marantz PMD222 tape recorder.

(Parenthetically (), other "youngers" in the house where I was at
living at the time I bought the tape recorder had an MD of their
own - but his 19 year old self didn't talk me about anything. The
problems of modern(?)families.)

Back to recording.

I have just dug out my collection of 35mm camera slides. The
collection begins in Pennsylvania in 1964. I want to catalogue (cat-
a-log) my slides. (Or dog-o-log as one TV ad says here.)

I figured one way of dog-o-logging my slides would be to flick
through the approximately 1000 slides on the projector and record on
tape the details of each picture. I then planned on transcribing my
ramblings from the tape onto the PC by hand typing.

NB: I've tried "voice to text" software but it really doesn't like
Mozart in the background!

Anyway, I have a PMD222 and an AT-815b...

Apart from using the built in mike on the tape recorder, I would
really like an extension mike that I can SIT BACK, RELAX, AND ENJOY
THE MOVIE (and record myself for posterity!)

Any suggestions on the best mike set up for this situation?

Money is no object; but the cheapest tenderer wins!

Cheers to all

Greg
