I bought the Dan Gibson Dish and mic in the mid 1980's and still have
it.
My wife also comments on the smell of the plastic molded dish when I
pull it
out of the case. I used it with a Marantz 430 for several years but now
use
a Sony MZ-N707 since my 430 went on the fritz. It is noisy in handling,
and
I did remedy that with a heavy tripod...otherwise it was (is)
surprisingly
good for the low investment.
