Hello to all, Great group of people here:)
I am really interested in buying a new Parabolic Microphone, but I don't know
which one is best for the way I plan to use it.
Which Parabola is best for picking up Human Voice Communication??
I am learning that Parabola's are not cheap little toys, and there is much more
to them then meets the eye. That is why I have come here to ask a few people
with experience in the instruments for a few recommendations before I shed out
the cash. I am Not a handyman, so I don't want to build anything.
I really don't mind spending the money for a Quality Product, but I would like
to keep it under 1500 Dollars.
I have narrowed down to few different Parabola Models, a Dan Gibson P229, or
P650, Telinga Pro Universal ME Series, or Telina Pro 5 Stereo DAT.
In the Dan Gibson advertisements, it states the Gibson increases sound by 75x,
but the Telinga's don't state at all how much they magnify sound.
I have searched the Internet, and various groups A LOT for the past few days,
but I cannot come up with the information I want to know.
Which of the parabola's has the most potential to pick up faint voice
communication? I would really like to try and hear the little conversations
between pitchers and catchers, players in huddles, and just to point the
Microphone in all directions in my Neighborhood etc, etc. I also wouldn't mind
hearing crickets, and other insect, animal sounds during the summer time
either. If there is a Different Parabola Model I left out the above, please
feel free to make your recommendation as I will value it greatly.
Be as specific as you want when you describe the pro's and con's of the
different Parabolic Microphones. One more thing, I am Not really into making
recordings although I will Not count anything out.
Thank you Kindly,
John.
