I have no experience of so can't comment on either the
para. or the mic.  The MZR50 is excellent piece of
kit.  The other piece of kit you will need is a pair
of headphones.  As long as you are able to connect the
Dan Gibson to your MRZ50 it will be worth using at
least to start with, as you will find that your
fieldcraft will be much more important than the
equipment at first.  I would suggest that you become a
member of the Wildlife Sound  Recording Society which
is based in the UK and is the largest society of it
kind in the world.  They are a very friendly bunch
with immense collective skills that will be an
excellent source of info. and practical help as they
organize field meetings etc.  They also have equipment
for sale at times.  The membership Secretary is:-
