Klas, have you tried running the recorder without the attached Video player
too and without the scart connector? I would just try first connecting the
DVD and TV on their own and manually switch over just to see if the scart i=
s
working properly.
I agree with you, once you say the word digital, people assume it=A1=C7s go=
ing
to work properly, not always the case I=A1=C7m afraid but you should defini=
tely
not get the noise you say you have :-(
I love the facility of looking at what has been recorded from the start
while still recording, I love the Tivo too, do you have that in Sweden?

hand me another model, for test.
As I see it now, I can't use the regular phono output's, as they don't
switch between the different hardware I have. I use both TV, decoder, DVD
and VHS. As it is now, the scart/video connections always automatically mak=
e
that the running hardware becomes dominant, shown on the screen. As you
know, there is a 12v voltage blocking units not in use.
But, yes, it would have been nicer to have the ancient system with a switch=
,
selecting which hardware I would like to use, but that wouldn't work with
the remote control...
The thing I like with the DVD unit that I have, is that is has a "time skip=
"
option which means that you can leave the program you are watching and star=
t
looking at it as it was when you left, while it continues to record the res=
t
of it. But I can't accept unnecessary noise.
When I got the DVD with the Lyrebird, I almost wrote to the producer and
asked him why he had set the audio level so low. I'm happy I didn't....

I looked for some data on the Panasonic DVD sheet, but couldn't find any.
Have we gone "so far" by now, that manufactureres don't even care to look
after such things? "If it's digital it's good!"
