Dipper

I have never heard them talk in the winter and they do overwinter here. As
long as there is some open water.
It is possible to find them singing their hearts out in a quite pool away
from the sound of rushing water but the major requirement is that your
recording gear is in the car and of course before your husband can get back
with it some small boys will approached the pool from the other side and
start skipping rocks.. Oh well - I still do not have a reasonable recordin=
g
of that bird.

I am targeting a MN dipper this winter.

I think I found him and need to record him or get good pics.
Since I am not good in the pics department I hope he is vocal in the
frozen winters here.

If I get the proof of my bird I think it will be the first confirmed
year round MN dipper population.

Do you agree with my assumption that they are vocal on stream in the
winter? Or am I once again going against the current?
