Hello everyone!

My name is Daniel and I'm a biologist living in Bonito, Brazil (south of th=
e Pantanal basin). My major interest is recording bird calls, for which - u=
ntil last month - I used those cheap microcassette recorders. They worked f=
ine for quite a while, but now a friend gave me a Sennheiser ME62 microphon=
e to be used with a Sony MZ-N10 minidisc recorder. Big difference!

The next steps for me are:

1) building a low-cost home-made parabolic reflector;
2) buying an efficient set of portable external speakers for playbacks,
3) learning tips and tricks.

I do have a couple of questions already, but will stick to only one for now=
 (please excuse me if this has been discussed before): is there any way of =
transferring the recorded files from the MD to my PC via the USB cable (and=
 not in real time using the MD's earphone outlet attached to the PC's mic i=
nlet?). I spent the whole afternoon searching the web for a solution, but g=
ot no positive answers so far...

Thanks a lot,

Daniel De Granville
Bonito, MS, Brazil
