I could not tell if it was a spoof from elsewhere, or if his machine is
the infected one. I knew I'd seen the address, but could not remember
who's it was. I've been through a couple rounds of having my address
spoofed, not much you can do if it's not your machine, except field any
angry email. Some won't believe me when I tell them my mac cannot be the
source. I'd have to manually construct a virus mail for one to be sent
from here.

Chris used to have a little bit of html he would include in any reply to
anyone who used html email. A windows machine would die instantly, macs
would labor like crazy to stay afloat and you could normally bail out.
It opened new windows, which opened new windows, which opened new
windows....as fast as your machine could do it. He hated html email, I'm
not far behind, but more peaceful about it.
I've actually poked around in some of these windows viruses. Kind of
like doing a post mortum on a mac as they are dead if they come here. I
used to keep a little zoo of all the mac ones, but lost it somewhere
back. Virtually all don't do anything with current mac systems, really
old stuff.

Chris' suicide was several years ago. I still maintain his address
forwarding to mine. No mail of any kind has gone out under that address
since he left us. And he get's just about as much spam as I do.
Interesting how it shifts with time. Right now it's back to porn after a
long run of paying off credit cards. Sounds like he's got a good credit
rating.
Even some of the email addresses associated with my web space sections,
which have never been used, ever, get spam.

I was amazed it worked at all. Been really nice here, keep at the
politicians.
