I didn't choose one or the other. I don't know that much. I wish I could say that there was a compelling chunk of wisdom that went into my using FLAC. But no, I found this free compression very easy to incorporate into my exsisting edit software and so I did. I will study your link and look for other open and free options to also upgrade to.
