Marty: I thought perhaps people were afraid to reawaken the discussion of the advantages and problems of compression schemes in general. I just now looked at a couple web sites and one big advantage of the Ogg Vorbis from my perspective is that I can get source code for it and figure out exactly how it works and what it does. It isn't "secret" as some schemes are. I'm happy to do this if there's enough interest among group members; though probably there's someone out there who's already done so. Cheers, Steve P |
