I personally don't like the term "noise". Not sure what to use instead.
Something like "undesirable sounds" is a bit awkward.
After all, unwanted "noise" for me might be the insects someone else
wants to record. Or maybe the breeze through the trees that someone else
goes to a great deal of trouble to get recorded right.
