I was intrigued by everyones PC "choosing" a different program to play
the sound files so I tried to find out (I'm continually amazed by the
ingenuity of the Microsoft programmers in hiding these settings in
unlikely locations) It would seem that the last program installed on a
PC capable of reading a particular file type automatically makes itself
the default (and overrides previous settings). To change this default
program that plays your MP3, MPEG etc files, go to My Computer, then in
the Tools menu go down to select the Folder options, then choose the
File types tab and click on change for the relevant file extension to
choose the program you wish to use (you can also click new to add
programs for specific file types).
Hope that is helpful to some (it was interesting for me to find out too)
Regards
Horst
