I didn't notice anything particularly toxic in the recent exchanges. They were what the diplomats would call 'frank discussions' between people who held very different points of view and who were sometimes not considering each other's arguments objectively. This is apt to occur when people feel strongly. Arguments ad hominem were also used. Unnecessary and regrettable but I should be sad if this list became entirely anodyne.
