I believe this is the NP900 series battery you have. A much thicker
battery than that shown in the photos, which is a NP500 series, which do
have the capacity limits I noted. I had also noted, I believe, that
other series should work on it, and I think this should include both the
NP700 and 900 series as it does not have space limitations above the
battery connector. All these are 7.2volt batteries and within each
series there are several capacity ratings around. Yes, if the thick
battery is used you would get greater time. At this point I'd not
speculate on just how much. I was estimating time based on the Portadisc
as well as laptops, but it's a real unknown until someone takes the
thing out and tries it. I'd expect the power requirements to be similar
to the Portadisc. And if the stock battery is a NP500, I stand by what I
said, at least until more info is available and we can quit guessing.
With a big battery I'd guess more time than you would. I'd think the
smaller battery would do a couple hours more or less.
I hope everyone realizes these Lion batteries are not cheap. Last ones
of the NP500 I got were about $50, and the larger series are probably
more. On the other hand, they are very long lived if given reasonable
care. And Radio shack, as well as walmart carries at least the NP500
series, making finding one a bit easier. I like this battery type, my
favorite.
