The voices in *my* head tell me that this is not an unusual problem - at least in populated areas. Double check the shielding on your cables. Is the solder connection good? A= t both ends? is the connector case grounded too? If the cable looks good, try placing a ferrite choke on your cable. Radio Shack sells two kinds, you want the one that looks like a tiny hot dog bun (part 273-105). It clamps around the cable at the male end.
