I was just wondering if anyone has a source for small quantities of a good
synthetic fur for making windscreens, and what to look for in the fur
backing. All I found was teddy bear making suppliers.
Thanks,

I use a pair of Sony MDR-V900's both for field recording and for
editing. I've several other pairs around, but these are the ones I've
found best for hearing the details of the sound.
The Sony's are both expensive and probably not that practical as field
phones due to the leather padding. But they are so good I just take the
chance. I like them well enough I recently bought a 2nd pair as a spare.
My current ones are a couple years old.
You need your field headphones to be closed well, so your mic won't pick
them up. It's not as critical editing if your editing environment is quiet.
