The right input channel is approx 30 db lower than the left. A careful
check of record level controls, input type and input pad switches
returns no differences channel to channel. Switching the mics at the
inputs, the problem stays on the right (meanin' it ain't the mic).

what happened to Your Portadat? I am just curious, because I have a
unit which has been repaired twice (its about 3 years in moderate
use). First time was within warranty time and I had to send it right
to UK. Something very serious happened to the recording head (?).
Second time was something wrong with preamp and a local man fixed it
(in Estonia).
