Dear David,

I have no engineering test results to share with you. I can only
report that using the Shure A96F matching transformer with my
Sennheiser mics and Sony MZ-R50 minidisc recorders results in an
increased recording level without a corresponding increase in
amplifier noise. Like I said in my first message, it's as if you
moved closer to the subject of your recording.

I suggest that you give the Shure transformer a try and decide for
yourself. B&H Photo/Video has a 7 day return policy for audio
equipment. Please share the results of your experience with the
group.
