I usually favour Sharp MD's:
First you can change the recording level while recording, without pausing,
secondly you don't have to press "search end" to get a new recording after
all others.
Are my comments still relevant, Walt? Or has Sony changed? New advantages
with Sony??

I was reminded just how uncommon our pursuit is recently. I was making
up mp3's for my site and filling in the info in the mp3's. There is a
section for Genre, and in my software a pop up menu that's very long
listing all kinds of types of music and so on, probably close to 100
types in that menu. There was no Nature Recording Genre. So, I had to
enter this custom Genre in by hand. Somehow being something the creators
of mp3 were unfamiliar with seems like a good thing.
I agree, the more the merrier. Nature recording is somewhat of a solo
pursuit and there is little good info available that's specific. Having
somewhere to go and talk to others is a great resource.
Walt
