Well, this is embarrassing. I don't really have a pair of super-matched
mics. I have a MD recorder in mono mode! After correcting that little
faux pas, I find that the mics are are actually within about 1 dB across
most of the spectrum except above 10kHz (and I don't trust my test setup
at high frequencies anyway.)
So I'm still happy with the replacements, just not quite as delirious as
a few hours ago :-)
