A few months ago we were discussing whether the syrinx allowed a bird to
make more than two vocal sounds at once. This last spring and summer I
several times listenned to a red squirrel making three sounds in
addition to the scolding chatter there was a high sqeaking sound and a
intermittant low moan simultaneously. Has anyone else made this
observation? Does anyone know if a squirrel has a larynx, syrinx or...
