A farther thought on this. We are really not usually recording so that 
we can accurately reproduce the sound out in it's original location. We 
are trying to reproduce as much of the original sound as practical 
somewhere else, generally at someone's ears.

While I think about, and am aware of the amp/speaker route. I mostly try 
to accurately reproduce the sound for a quality pair of headphones. And 
leave it up to whoever wants to listen to come up with a suitable 
speaker system. I'm well aware that most will be listening with either 
lower quality headphones, or speaker systems of dubious quality. For the 
full range of frogcalls, many of these systems cannot reproduce all the 
sounds. Certainly not like original.
