GPS Datum

Subject: GPS Datum

I have read the requested info for documentation post but there still
appears to be no standard to the GPS location datum used.
Having had no response from research people I have contacted I have
been using a format that I found most easy, but really don't care and
find the US government using a different standard than the State.
I use no min and secs and wgs 84. If anyone could give a reason to
standardize to something else I would be happy to switch.

For example I document a location as:
N45.46796 W93.70531 WGS84

What would be the best most easily used standard and the most uniform
way to write it down?

Rich Peet
