This one can try to do by technical means. Or one can spend a few years
recording actual natural sounds and find out on the real stuff. I've
done both, but the one I trust the most is the latter.
I'm not again technical comparisons, as long as they truly compare what
they say they do. I've provided as good as I can get in this regard
without dissecting a MD recorder, which I'm highly reluctant to do. If
someone else cares to try, fine. Remember, in looking for the effect of
ATRAC, that effect will be exactly the same for all machines using the
same version of ATRAC. If you find a difference that's only in some
machines, it's not from ATRAC. Good luck, you are going to need it.
