I recorded night and dawn in Dunn County WI (Western WI) on 4/8/02.
This was the first day of complete loss of snow cover. No frogs at
all yet. Barred Owls just starting and Turkeys in full. Very wet
this week and things are due to start very shortly.
I hope to return to southern MN on 4/15 & 4/16 after I finish Sharp-
tailed and Roughed Grouse farther north this weekend. Feel free to
call me on the cell phone and I will give you current status. cell
number is 612-309-6132. Hopefully I will not be in a ravine and out
of touch.

You may wish to consider Neecedah WI in about a week as the new
Whoopers are on their way home now and have not been recorded with
any quality that I have heard yet. Although access is pretty
restricted. Also multiple Redheaded woodpeckers are possible there
and they are more than a week ahead of us.
