The Blue-bills will have been there somewhere but can be tricky to spot as they are often lurking along the edge of the cumbungi reeds or moving into and out of the reeds. There were three blue-billed males there in the last few days and there are also
juveniles accompanying adults. Given the youngsters, the birds will be around for a while longer. They have been reported in eBird at Upper Stranger Pond most days since early December, so maybe keep on trying. The most recent report was this afternoon at
2.30...
