Any chance it was something else, like a Pallid Cuckoo, Rob? They can look distinctly hawk-like at times.

Walking at Farrer Ridge this afternoon, we saw a Nankeen Kestrel chase away another small raptor of similar size to the Kestrel. The underside of the wings of the other bird seemed to be light grey. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera ready at the time. I don't think that the Grey Goshawk is found in Canberra and I'm dubious about a Pacific Baza. Does anyone have any ideas what it might have been?
