A very similar experience today to that of three days ago, with a small flock of swifts seen flying fast and low whilst I was driving along the Kings Highway. This time it was in the locality of Larbert, which is roughly 12km north of Braidwood,
about 3km south of the Shoalhaven River, at 6.15pm. I stopped the car and got out to look, hoping to see a larger flock of birds, but I only saw half a dozen and they were gone very quickly, headed east. They were very clearly White-throated Needletails,
with the late afternoon sun shining off their white- coloured throat feathers.
