As I was driving along the Kings Highway yesterday afternoon around 4.20pm I saw a small number of swifts just as the road passes out of the ACT and into NSW. This is about 7km from Bungendore. I only saw around half a dozen, but as I was driving
I couldn't scan the sky much, so there may have been a larger number of birds I didn't see. The swifts I saw were White-throated Needletails. These are the first swifts I've seen this season and I've looked for them a lot over summer, before and after the
frequent storms, mostly over Braidwood.
