Good luck to all.

It appears there’s plenty of highly motivated hunters about
It’s probably not apparent to those who’ve looked at my records but audio recording is my first love.

I have partially completed my audio upgrade to better equipment. Good mike good recorder.  The next chore is using the processing software.

Beats carrying a tape recorder.

See you in the field.

Hi all and Nik too
Ben has recorded some calls, but it can be hard recording calls while also keeping alert for a view!  Background noise is a big issue unless one has almost professional level equipment. I was not able to confirm the first recording Ben submitted to eBird, but if there is a Brown Cuckoo-dove to be found, I am still hoping Ben or someone else will manage a photo or clear audio recording. I know of at least one other person who has been hunting the bird over the last week or so!

Simply record the call.  Then we know.

Cheers.

The bird called approximately 30 times over the course of 5 minutes and was probably less than 100 metres away, but unfortunateIy it was not visible from my garden.
